The Surface Types module enables users to indicate the types of surfaces found above pipes and assign classifications to each surface. The system uses these settings when selecting pipes for rehabilitation and determining rehab costs.

To access the Surface Types module, select Sewer > Sewer Rehab > Rehab Setup > Pipe Rehab Setup > Surface Types. The following window appears:

The type of ground found above a pipe. Click the field caption or press F9 for a list of surfaces derived from the Pipe Inventory module's Surface field. |
Surface Assignment |
Indicates whether the model should consider the selected Surface as Paved, Unpaved, Heavy Traffic, or Unassigned. The Unassigned option forces the system to assume the highest possible cost. |

* Must be unique. Only one record can be set up for each Surface type.
