Views

Views control how data is structured or displayed on screen. A View can either show all of the records in a single module or a limited set of records for a module (based on a preset filter). Views can be launched from the Modules tab, the Menu tab, or from a Dashboard plugin.

View Elements

	Mark as Favorite	Lets users mark a specific view as a favorite. To access Favorites, click on the Favorites tab on the main menu. When a view is marked as a favorite, the star turns yellow.
	Title	Identifies the View by name. If the View was reached through a Dashboard plugin, the title is the same as the link selected.
	Share with Others	Enables the user to send a link to the current View to other Lucity users, allowing them to see the same dataset. More information on sharing Views

Grids - Each View contains one or more grids, which display tools and records for the module.

Opening Views

Views can be accessed through:

the Dashboard - When a record is selected on the Dashboard, the system launches a user-selected View or the default View.
a Menu - Views can be assigned to a menu to give users quick access. The system opens the preselected view assigned to the menu.
a Module menu - Launching the view through a module menu always opens the default view.
a Tool or another View - The program asks the user which View to display when the user launches the view from a tool or attempts to view a related record in another module. The ability to choose relies on the Show user a popup of choices to open Work Orders with option.
