Inspections Tab

The Inspection tab has several fields to provide quick information about the most recent Site inspection and a grid with a list of all inspections for the site.  The records in this grid come from the Survey Site Inspection module.

Field

Field Function

Last Inspection

The last date the asset was inspected. Automatically filled out from the Inspection Date field of the most recent inspection record.

Condition

This field is automatically updated from the inspection records Last Condition field when a new inspection is saved.

Result

This field is automatically updated from the inspection records Inspection Date field when a new inspection is saved.

Inspection Freq

The number of (date) units between inspections.

Inspection Freq Units

The type of date units between inspections.

Next Inspection

The date the next inspection should occur. This is calculated in one of two ways.

  • If the Inspection Freq and Inspection Freq Units fields are populated, the system will calculate this field automatically based on the Last Inspection date field.
  • If a user manually enters the Next Insp Date on the previous inspection.
  • If the Inspection Freq and Inspection Freq Units fields are filled out and the user fills out the Next Insp Date on the inspection the program uses whichever the closer date.

    Example: An inspection was completed on 8/15/2014. The user filled out the Next Insp Date as 12/3/2014 but the calculated date is 8/15/2015. This field will display 12/3/2014.

Users can filter records by the Next Inspection Date to identify facilities that need to be inspected.

Predominate Species

This field is automatically updated from the inspection records Predominate Species field when a new inspection is saved.

PredomInstar

This field is automatically updated from the inspection records PredomInstar field when a new inspection is saved.

Ave per Dip

This field is automatically updated from the inspection records Ave per Dip field when a new inspection is saved.

Total Count

This field is automatically updated from the inspection records Total Count field when a new inspection is saved.

Note: This information comes from the Data tab of the Survey Site Inspection module.

There is a grid at the bottom of the tab that lists all of the inspections for this particular site.

A sample of the grid appears below. Sort records in the grid by clicking on the headings.  An up or down arrow (highlighted in orange below) will appear signifying ascending or descending order.

How To Add an inspection

  1. Right-click in the grid and select Add Record. The Survey Site Inspection module will open to a new record.
  2. Fill out the Inspection Date. This is required.
  3. Fill out any other desired fields.
  4. Save and close the record. The inspection will appear in the grid
