The GIS Show in Map configuration is a user-based setting. This window allows users to select a default map for Lucity to jump to when the Show in map tool is used. It also allows users to select a custom programmed Show in Map component for the desktop application to use in place of the default Lucity component.
Order of Map use
If a map is selected for the module the show in map tool will use that.
If a no map is selected for the module and the default map is set in the system configuration the show in map tool will use the default map.
If no default map is set the show in map tool will automatically launch the Lucity Webmap or Lucity GIS Viewer. Which one it launches is based on which .exes are used in the desktop for the Show in Map tools.
Select System > Configuration > GIS > Show in Map to open the configuration window.
In the ArcMap Project for Display field, browse to the location of a standard ArcMap project. By default, this map will be displayed whenever the Show in Map button is used in a module.
Note: If there is no project selected, the Lucity Webmap or the Lucity GIS Viewer will be used by default depending on other configuration.
Note: Since this window determines what GIS project is displayed, it must be defined before the initial use of the Show in Map button. This setting can be overridden on a per-module basis by setting a different map project in various Lucity modules. For additional information, consult the Show in Map topic in the Lucity Help Guide.

Note: To use a different Show In Map program click the button next to any of the program components and find the custom .exe to use.
Note: To use a different Show In Map program for addresses go to System > Configuration > GIS > Address Show In Map.

Go to the desired module and click the down arrow located to the right of the Show in Map tool.
A sub-menu will appear; click "View/Set Map Settings"
A dialog will appear showing the currently specified .mxd. If no file is specified then it means that there has not been an .mxd associated with this module yet.
To associate a new .mxd click the browse button and navigate to the location of the .mxd. Click OK.
