Subsegment Split Process within the Desktop Application

The following is an overview of the subsegment split process within the desktop:

• Create a new subsegment inventory record
• Populate the new street subsegment attributes
  • Length, start/end point, start/end percentage are calculated by tool
  • Additional area is copied from the existing subsegment
  • Pavement and total area fields are recalculated
• Update the existing subsegment attributes
  • Length, start/end point, start/end percentage, pavement area, and total area are recalculated
• Copy the remaining attributes from the existing subsegment to the new subsegment
• Associate documents to the new street subsegment
• Update field inspections
  • Create a copy of the field inspections associated to the existing subsegment and associate the copied records to the new subsegment

  Note: Driveway replacement estimates, sidewalk replacement estimates, and overall patching estimate fields are recalculated based upon the percentage of the new length to the original subsegment length

  • Update the inspections associated to the existing subsegment

• Update Pavement Maintenance records
  • Create a copy of the pavement maintenance records associated to the existing subsegment and associate the copied records to the new subsegments
• Update Work Orders
  • Asset/Task associations are carried over to the merged pipe
  • Any previous asset costs AS_WOCOST and AS_UNASGNCOST are only associated to one of the pipes
• Update PM/Work Template records
• Update Master Project records
