The Sewer program allows you to import external TV observation data from outside vendors and integrate it with your Sewer inventory and inspection modules. Below is a basic outline of the steps involved in the data import process.
Note: The External TV Import section lists all the outside TV inspection vendors that are compatible with Lucity. Find the vendor you are using and open that section of the manual. For example, if you use Aries, select External TV Import > Aries. This will walk you through the entire TV import process in greater detail than described below.
Basic Outline:
Code Setup - First, your data must be transcribed into the Lucity software through a code setup process. This process varies from vendor to vendor.
External TV Import - Once the code setup is complete, you can import a set of TV observations. This process imports your data into a temporary file and then automatically launches the validate and transfer program.
Validate and Transfer - Now the data you imported must be validated and transferred to the primary database. This is an automatic process that checks your data for duplicate records (within the validation and the master database). It also looks for key information to populate required fields. By doing this validation and transfer, you are creating the Validate.mdb file that will be transferred to the main database.
Recalculation - After importing sewer inspections users should run the recalculate tools.
Recalc All - This is a general recalculation tool that affects multiple modules. This will update all the auto-calculations in the system taking into account any new data your imported. However, it might not recalculate every field in every affected module.
Recalculate Filterset Toolkits - Within each module users will find Recalculate Filterset tools in the module's Toolkit. Running these tools will automatically recalculate all calculated fields in that module for the records in the filterset.
