On this tab, you can include the driver's/pedestrian's identification information. This includes the individual's name, address, phone numbers, date of birth, gender, driver's license state and number, whether the individual has a commercial driver's license, and whether or not the license is valid. Additionally, this tab tracks detailed information on the vehicle involved. This includes the travel direction of the unit, pre-crash maneuvers (turning, breaking, backing, disabled, etc.), and extent of vehicle damage. Other contributory factors such as whether the driver is under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances, the results of impairment tests, blood alcohol levels, and any other special data needed is also included in this tab. Finally, the Special Conditions grid contains a series of check-boxes used to indicate whether the accident was a hit and run, non-contact, involved a stolen vehicle, etc.
Note: The Travel Direction and Pre-Crash Maneuver fields are used by the system to create a collision diagram. It is important that these fields are entered accurately in order for the proper collision diagram to be identified on the Verification tab. For information on the collision diagram itself, see the Toolkit topic.
