WO/PM Tab

The Work Orders and Preventative Maintenance tab allows you to view and edit work orders and PM templates associated with a piece of equipment.  

Note: If you did not purchase Work, this tab will not be available to you.

• To create a new work order, click on the module toolbar and the Work Order module will open.
• To create a new PM template, click on the module toolbar and the PM/Work Template module will open.  
• To view or edit a work order or preventative maintenance record, Right-click on the record and select View Record.

Once the new Work order or PM is created, the inventory item will be automatically entered in the Asset field of the WO tab as well as in the Assets grid. The category associated with that item of inventory will also be entered in the module header.

Note for PM Templates: After you select a main task for the template, you can use the F5 key to enter the unique combination of task and asset into the PM/Template header field. The equipment name as it appears in the Equipment Inventory module will be listed. If a template already exists for that task/equipment combination, you will be prompted to change the name.  

Note:  If the operating status is greater than 950 (considered out-of-service), the system will not generate a work order based on this PM until the inventory item is considered to be back in service.  For further information on the PM template, please reference the help guide.

The PM grid also contains a function that allows you to quickly generate a work order from a PM. To access this function, right-click on a PM listing and select "Generate WO from PM".

This function cannot be used if:

• The asset's status code is greater than 949,
• The PMs status code equals "2 - WO Generated",
• The Grouped PMs status code equals "2 - WO Generated", or
• The PM flag is False (in the Linked PM record).

In addition, many WO/PMs tabs throughout the system contain two important fields:

• Default WO Category field - This field allows you to set up a default category for your asset. Multiple categories are available in the pick list. To view the categories, press F9 or click on the Default WO Cat button. When a work order is created, the default category and related asset information will be imported into the new work order record.
• No WO/PM/Req - When this checkbox is marked, users will be prevented from creating Requests, Work Orders, or PMs for the current asset inventory record. This will disable the Create Request, Create WO, and Create PM buttons. Additionally, the asset will no longer be displayed in the selection dialogs for the WO/PM/Request modules. This may be used for assets that are in the system but have been abandoned or are no longer used.
