The Pavement modules, used in conjunction with the Street Segment or Roads modules, provides a comprehensive solution for pavement data management, budget forecasting, and modeling. The Subsegments, Supersegments, and Field Inspections modules allow agencies to inventory and inspect all of their pavement-related assets. The Modeling modules' budget forecasting capabilities can help agencies to determine when and where to perform maintenance as well as calculate the budget required to achieve their maintenance needs. Below are some of the basic relationships between these transportation modules. Follow the links at the bottom of the screen for detailed information.
Module Relationships
If a street is inspected in sections because of pavement or construction differences, the Street Segment can be broken into Subsegments for inspections. Each subsegment defines a part of the street segment length. One subsegment record will automatically be created by the system for each segment. Users can then split segments to add additional subsegments as needed.
If streets are grouped together for inspections and a block of streets is inspected as one segment, a Supersegment can be created for inspection purposes. These supersegments are also used as the basis of the Pavement Modeling system as model runs are conducted against each supersegment.
Each subsegment can have multiple Field Inspection records. If the system is not subsegmented, the field inspection record will be related to the one subsegment created automatically by the system.
