This section contains the Electric Overcurrent Protective Device Inventory modules. Below, we've identified the basic relationships between these modules. Follow the links at the bottom of the screen for detailed information.
Module Relationships
Overcurrent protective devices open or trip when maximum current levels are exceeded for a certain amount of time. These are present in electric distribution systems to ensure that appropriate voltage levels can be delivered to customers.
Several specific device types are utilized in overcurrent systems. These include circuit breakers, reclosers, sectionalizers, and fault interrupters. Often, these devices coordinate with each other to protect the circuit.
