When the Street Name List validation is activated, any text you enter in an address field will appear in colored text (red by default). Once the street name is validated against the pre-defined street name list, the text will return to black font. If the street name you entered is invalid, the text will remain in the designated color and an error message will appear prompting you to change your entry. If the street name remains invalid, you will not be able to save the record. This applies to all modules.
When the Street Name List validation is deactivated, you can enter addresses of any format and desired spelling. However, if the street name entered does not match the pre-defined list of street names, it cannot be filtered or sorted by the street name fields. Furthermore, once the Street Name List validation is activated again, the street names that do not match will cause those records to be invalid.
Note: Deactivating the validation affects all users.
