General Tab

The General tab is used to record basic information about a piece of equipment, including its manufacturer, the operator of the equipment, the department that uses the equipment, and the year the equipment was manufactured. Users can also indicate the priority of a piece of equipment and link it to other assets.

The following fields have special functions:

Field

Assigned To Email

Specifies the email address for the person to which the equipment is assigned. (An email address is required for Equipment Notifications.)

Work Employee *

Links a Work Flow Setup > Employee record to the Equipment record.

Note: The equipment appears on the Issued tab of the selected Employee record.

Plant ID

Links a record in the Equipment Inventory to a record in the Plant Inventory. The Equipment record is actually linked to a Plant Process record; however, the user must complete the Plant ID field before completing the Process field. Click on the field name or press F9 within a field for a list of plants.

Process

Links a record in the Equipment Inventory to a record in the Plant Process Inventory. The user must complete the Plant ID field before completing the Process field. Click on the field name or press F9 within a field for a list of plants.

Fleet ID

Links a record in the Equipment Inventory to a record in the Fleet Inventory. Click on the field name or press F9 within a field for a list of vehicles.

Note: This association can also be made in the Fleet Inventory using the Attached Equipment grid on the Tracking tab.

Site ID

Links a record in the Equipment Inventory to a record in the Facility > Site Inventory. Click on the field name or press F9 within the field for a list of sites.

Note: This association can also be made in the Site Inventory using the Equipment grid on the Equip/Fleet tab.

Building ID

Links a record in the Equipment Inventory to a record in the Facility > Building Inventory. Click on the field name or press F9 within the field for a list of buildings.

Note: This association can also be made in the Site Inventory using the Equipment grid on the Equip/Fleet tab.

WO Equip Code *

 

Links a record in the Equipment Inventory to a record in the Work Flow Setup > Equipment module. This function enables the piece of equipment to be used as a resource on a work order instead of as an asset. (A Work Order Asset is the asset that is being worked on. A Work Order Resource is an object being used to complete the work order.)

Enter the Equipment ID for the Work Flow Setup > Equipment record to associate it with this record. Or, enter a new number in this field to automatically create a matching record in the Work Flow Setup > Equipment module.

Hot Keys

  • Press F5 within the field to automatically complete the field with the Equipment ID.
  • Press F9 within the field to select from a list of records from the Work Flow Setup > Equipment module.

    * This field is available only when an agency owns the Work program.
