Location Tab

The Location tab is designed to store general and specific information about the location of the system valve. At the top of the tab are a few fields to store general location information. Below those fields there is a Field Ties grid, which allows users to store specific instructions and measurements about the exact location of the valve. This is especially useful for locating underground assets. Finally there are several more fields at the bottom of the tab that store GIS/GPS information.

Field	Special Function
GIS SubType	This field is automatically filled out if the module is linked to a GIS feature class and the GIS subtypes are setup in the geodatabase.

Field Ties grid

This grid allows users to enter specific information, or steps, to help people find the location of the asset in the future.

A sample of the grid appears below. Sort records in the grid by clicking on the headings. An up or down arrow (highlighted in orange below) will appear signifying ascending or descending order.

Right-click in the grid to add a record
Right-click on an existing record to get a menu with options to View Record, Add Record, Edit Record, or Delete Record.
Double-click on an existing record to open it

How To Create a Field Tie record

Right-click in the grid and select Add Record. The following popup will appear:
Enter a Sequence Number.
- This is required and must be unique in the current valves Field Ties grid.
Enter a step into the Field tie text field.
Save and close the record. It will appear in the Field Ties grid.
Repeat this for any further steps.
