The Equipment Inventory Module provides two toolkit functions that allow users to quickly send pre-configured e-mails to equipment operators to remind them of maintenance or to provide instructions.
The email will go to every recipient in the notification template's recipient list as well as the email address the Assigned To Email field for each piece of equipment the notification is sent out for.
Equipment notifications are not triggered automatically. They are sent using the Send Email Notification for Current Record or Send Email Notification for Filterset functions found in the Equipment Toolkit.
The notification template is created in the General > Notification Setup module. When the Equipment toolkit functions are used, the user selects which template to use.

After creating the notification template, go to Fleet > Equipment > Equipment, Plant/Equip > Equipment > Equipment, or Facility > Equipment > Equipment and find the piece of equipment where the operator needs to receive the notification. Or, set up a filter of equipment to which to send e-mails.
On the General tab, make sure the Assigned To Email field is filled out with the e-mail address for the person who is in charge of the equipment.
Select the button on the toolbar. The following screen will pop up.
Select one:
Send Email Notification for Current Record (The system will send the e-mail to the operator of the equipment currently being viewed.)
Send Email Notification for Filterset (The system will send the e-mail to all the operators of the current equipment filterset.)
Select Execute, and the following screen will appear:
Click the Email Notif #button, and select the notification to send.
Note: Only notification templates that have the Notification Module set to "Equipment" will show in this list.
Click OK, and the notification will be sent.
Note: A record of the notification is stored on the Email tab.
