Disabling the Lucity-Geodatabase Sync

The sync between from Lucity to the Geodatabase is a core piece of the Lucity/ArcGIS integration. However, there are times when the GIS data shouldn't be updated based on the Lucity data. This article discusses three ways that stop Lucity form updating the Geodatabase.

Stop certain GIS fields from getting updated with Lucity Data

If you allow data from Lucity to update the geodatabase with new information but you want to stop that integration for certain fields then you can do the following.

This can be accomplished in the Geodatabase Configuration by:

Stop Lucity data from being synced to the geodatabase

If you want to stop Lucity data from sending data to GIS we still suggest you setup the integration because the setup is necessary for some other tools to work, but you can use the following System Settings to disable updates from Lucity to GIS.

Found in Lucity Web under Admin Portal > Settings > System Settings > GIS Edit Integration section.

GIS/Lucity Edit Integration - Disable all updates to the geodatabase from Lucity

Prevents edits made in Lucity Desktop and Web from being saved to the geodatabase.

GIS/Lucity Edit Integration - Make fields shared with the geodatabase always read only

Makes any field shared with the geodatabase read-only in Lucity.

GIS/Lucity Edit Integration - Make GIS fields marked as Import Only always read only

Forces all fields that are mapped to GIS and are marked as Import Only to be readonly in the Lucity web and desktop software.

GIS/Lucity Edit Integration - Make Lucity fields integrated with the geodatabase read only if the geodatabase cannot be updated

Changes any field integrated with the geodatabase to read-only if the connection to the geodatabase fails when a form is loaded.

GIS/Lucity Edit Integration- Prevent saving Lucity record if GIS update fails *

Prevents the system from saving edits to Lucity records when the geodatabase update fails.

Important: If you disable the Lucity to GIS integration this will stop Lucity data from being actively pushed to the geodatabase. However, this will not stop GIS Tasks from updating the geodatabase with information. For example, if a new record is added to GIS and then imported to Lucity using the Lucity GIS Task, the task may make some updates to the geodatabase. So while Lucity attribute data is not actively being pushed over, Lucity tools may modify the GIS data. For example:
